Love God. Love People.: Tis' the season.

For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given;

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

and his name shall be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

I love Christmas. To reflect on the birth of Jesus is pretty incredible. God fulfills this promise in Isaiah. And because of His son Jesus my life is completely different. Jesus came to this earth to die on the cross for you and me. Pause. Think. Jesus died for your sins and for mine.

'Cause Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:5-11

God is good. He loves us so stinkin' much. And this Christmas I was thankful to be home. It was a little different because a week ago my mom broke her ankle. I am glad we were able to be together as a family. The older I become, the more I realize the true meaning of Christmas. We so often get caught up in finding the perfect gift for our loved ones. December is busy, busy, busy. And we so often forget the purpose of this special day along the way of all the busyness. So, this Christmas we took a step back and slowed down and reflected on the birth of Jesus. We did have presents and all but more than anything we treasured the moments of just being together.
