Day 1 consisted of a lot of traveling. We left February 28th and flew into Manila March 1st. We checked our bags in and made it through security quite smoothly, praise God. This first flight was just from Portland to LA so it was fairly short.
The fun began once we landed in LA. We hopped off the plane and walked or maybe I should say jogged to the international part of the airport. The whole time Seth kept telling us to keep up. Once we found our flight and went through security once again we found our gate and finally got some dinner.
As we boarded our plane in LA, we were all in awe at how big it was. Thankfully we had personal tvs loaded with movies and tv shows to help us get through that 12 hour flight. We all sat by each other.

None of us really felt good after the lil food we ate on the plane.
We landed in Taipei, Taiwan and who knows what time it was. All I can say is in the midst of the traveling we never experienced Friday which is just bizarre. We had a couple hours until we had to board our final flight. After sitting for 12 hours, we decided to explore the Taipei airport.

We stumbled upon a prayer room Hello Kitty was everywhere some of the planes even had Hello Kitty on them.
Vica had a neat opportunity of sharing a conversation with someone at the airport. It was a great reminder for me that mission work begins way before you arrive to your destination.

Here is my creeper photo of the conversation. Ha.
A lot of sleeping occurred during this layover since planes aren't the most ideal place to sleep.

We boarded our final flight and thankful it was a short one.

We landed in Manila and made it through customs. Then went to baggage claim in hopes that all of our luggage made it... which all of our luggage did make it! :) Mrs. Weisser and Omega were there with the van to pick us up. We then went to the Weisser's house. Driving there was crazy. Filipino driving is so unlike how we drive here. They have lines on the road but usually don't use them. It was funny to see all the stares we got every time we stopped which was just the beginning of many more stares to come.
