Uniquely formed. An original.

Today is the day we arrive at our first camp. Yesterday we made it to Spokane. While Ninja aka Jacob hung out with his girlfriend, the rest of us went on to explore the city of Spokane. Thanks to those who recommended Manito Gardens, we found a peaceful spot to enjoy the sunshine. The rose garden and Japanese garden were beautiful. We ended the day spending some quality time at Starbucks. I love coffee shops they seem to be one of those public places where I tend to be the most productive.

Thinking ahead to this week and the following seven weeks I realize some things. There's not much I have to offer these campers. All I have is God. But even then, I understand that I cannot make them choose to turn towards our Papa. Only the Holy Spirit can do such a mighty work! Oswald Chambers has helped confirm this train of thinking as well as many friends.

"Never make a principle out of your experience; let God be as original with other people as He is with you." - Oswald Chambers

God is writing a different story within each of our lives. Each story may have some common things intertwined within one another, but every story is completely unique. Why? Because God has formed each of us for a unique purpose. And thank goodness because can you imagine each person being the same? Sure does not sound creative at all or appealing. As Francis Chan states, "We have a God who is a Creator, not a duplicator."

So, wherever you are today remember God is not finished with you yet. Stop comparing yourself or trying to be someone you aren't. Slow down and enjoy the ride. Let go of your life so God may be as original with you as He is with others!
